Operational summary
Depending on plan and permissions, fleet data export (CSV) may be available from the hub for external analysis or archival.
Server-side history retention affects how long certain events remain available to review or export.
Deep dive
CSV data export is one of those features that seems minor until you need it: when a customer requests monthly report, when accounting wants to reconcile mileage, when an auditor asks for incident traceability. Sentinel offers CSV export from the fleet hub, available per plan and user permissions.
What the export includes depends on the module: GPS positions per node in a time range, tactical log events, chat messages, missions (creation, assignment, completion), geofence events. The CSV format is standard and opens in Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, Tableau, or any analysis tool. For large datasets (months of operation with many nodes) files can be heavy; filter by time range or unit before exporting.
History retention is a server-side parameter the plan defines: how many days/months events are kept available for export or query. For long-term legal audit, schedule periodic exports and archive in your document system. For tactical analysis (weekly, monthly) on-demand export suffices.
A common practice in mature organizations is a simple pipeline: every Monday, export the previous week, load into a spreadsheet or lightweight BI, generate internal dashboards. Sentinel focuses on live operations; historical analytics is delegated to tools your team already uses. For deeper integrations (direct API, webhooks), contact support.
