How Sentinel handles billing, plans, and near-limit usage notices. Why it pays to check before getting an unexpected overage.

Deep dive

Sentinel is offered as a monthly SaaS subscription. Each plan defines limits: max active nodes, monthly messages per node, history retention, CSV export enabled or not, geofences, etc. The idea is each organization pays for what they use, with no charges for unneeded features.

The billing panel shows the current plan, upcoming due dates, and current month usage at a glance. If usage approaches the plan limit (say, you're close to node quota), the panel shows an early warning banner. That lets you plan upgrades instead of reacting late.

We use Stripe in production. The organization can manage card, view invoices, and cancel from the customer portal accessible from the panel. If your organization needs other payment methods (transfer, corporate invoice), contact support: there are manual flows for large B2B cases.

If the plan expires or a charge fails, the system alerts you in advance and degrades gradually: notification first, then write restriction, then read-only. The account is never auto-deleted: data stays available while you resolve billing. For support, always include Org ID and admin email to speed response.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change plans?
Yes, from the billing panel. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current cycle to avoid impacting in-progress operations.
What if I exceed the node limit?
The system shows warnings beforehand and blocks new node creation at quota. Existing nodes keep operating normally.
Do you accept corporate invoicing?
For large B2B customers we handle manual transfer flows. Contact support with your organization details to enable.
Are my data deleted on cancellation?
Not automatically. Data stays available while you resolve any pending. For permanent deletion with data purge, open an explicit ticket to support.
